“Russia Day is a holiday very closely related to all our people.”A large-scale program of the Days of Russian culture was held in Tskhinvali
The capital of South Ossetia hosted a series of cultural events which strengthened humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. Residents of the republic were able to discover authentic examples of Cossack culture, watch a unique one-man show, and attend a professional art workshop.
The Stavropolye State Cossack Song and Dance Ensemble opened the program at the K. Khetagurov South Ossetian Drama Theater on 12 June. The ensemble performed famous Cossack songs and vibrant choreographic scenes. The evening culminated in a joint performance with artists from the Ossetian Simd ensemble named after Boris Galaev. A photo exhibition capturing key moments in the cultural dialogue between the two countries was displayed in the theater’s foyer.
In his welcoming speech, the President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev emphasized:
“This day is of special significance for the residents of South Ossetia— the overwhelming majority of citizens of our republic are also citizens of the Russian Federation. Therefore, Russia Day is a holiday that is close to the hearts of all people. We’ve done a lot together in recent times: humanitarian and educational projects are in progress, and cooperation in a wide range of areas is strengthening. Culture is especially important in our relationships, as this is something that makes communication between people really warm.

The educational part of the program was presented by Alexey Pisarenko, a teacher at the Sergei Andriaka Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts, who conducted a master class on multi-layered watercolor painting for students and teachers at the M.S. Tuganov Tskhinvali Art College.
The Days of Russian Culture were organized by the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
