Days of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan concluded with a gala concert at the Bolshoi TheatreThe Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova and the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva attended the gala event
The principal guests of the gala evening were the President of the Russian Federation
Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
As Olga Lyubimova noted, the exchange Days of Culture is a key intergovernmental project,
traditionally organized by the cultural government departments of the two countries on a parity
basis. “We plan to hold reciprocal Days of Russian Culture in Kazakhstan in 2026,” she added.
That evening, the Bolshoi Theatre’s Historic Stage featured the Kurmangazy Kazakh National
Conservatory’s Folk Instruments Orchestra, the symphony orchestra, choir and the ballet
company of the Astana Opera State Opera and Ballet Theatre, renowned Soviet and Kazakh pop
singer Roza Rymbayeva, singer Alisher Karimov, and leading soloists of the Astana Opera State
Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Abay State Opera and Ballet Theatre. A unique joint
performance by the Serper Dombra Ensemble from Kazakhstan and the Dombra Ensemble of the
Gnessin Russian Academy of Music was one of the evening’s highlights.
In addition, this festive evening featured a special thematic block dedicated to the 80th
anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Iconic compositions were performed,
including such beloved songs as Cranes, Evening on the Roadstead, My Dear Capital, Song of
the Distant Homeland, and others.
The program of events for the Days of Kazakhstan Culture in Russia included the exhibition
Masterpieces of Kazakh Art. Located at the New Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val, the
exhibition features works by 20th-century Kazakh artists from the collection of the Abylkhan
Kasteyev National Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan and works from the State
Tretyakov Gallery. The exhibition is open to visitors until November 23
Besides, Days of Kazakh Cinema took place in October. Audiences were offered an opportunity
to see the film Time of Heroes, the historical war film Summer 1941, the musical Stop, Night
based on songs by the famous Kazakh and Russian musical group A’Studio, and the musical
biopic Dos-Mukasan.
The Kalibek Kuanyshbaev Kazakh National Music and Drama Theater presented the play Parasat
Maidany to Moscow audiences at the Maly Theater.
