Igor Butman and the Moscow Jazz Orchestra will tour Latin AmericaThe tour will run from 31 January to 6 February
The orchestra will perform in three Latin American countries: the Republic of Cuba (Havana), the Republic of Nicaragua (Managua), and the Federative Republic of Brazil (São Paulo and Florianópolis).
The orchestra’s Latin American tour will start in Cuba: on 30 and 31 January, it will perform at the Fábrica de Arte Cubano in Havana and at the National Theater of Cuba (Sala Avellaneda). The orchestra’s first visit to Nicaragua, where a concert will take place on 2 February at the Rubén Darío National Theater in Managua, promises to become a historic event. The tour will culminate in Brazil – a country, which Maestro Igor Butman holds in high regard. Following triumphant performances in 2024, the orchestra will give two concerts on 5 February at the legendary Blue Note São Paulo Club and make its debut in Florianópolis at the Teatro Ademir Rosa on 6 February.
“It’s a great honor and responsibility for us to represent Russian culture and jazz at such prominent venues around the world. At the end of January, we will open the tour with two concerts at the Havana Jazz Plaza Festival in Cuba, followed by a performance at the National Theater in Managua, Nicaragua, and a return to Brazil, where we were so warmly received in 2024. For each performance, we will prepare a special program that will feature elements of the culture of the country we are visiting. Our phenomenal pianist and vocalist, Oleg Akkuratov, and our soloist, Fantine, are able to sing in several languages, allowing us to create a truly international and jazzy dialogue with the audience”
