The Rachmaninoff International Competition launches the project «My Rachmaninoff»A special cultural and educational online project «My Rachmaninoff» starts on the eve of the opening of the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors, which is to be held in Moscow from 14 to 27 June. The project will be opened by Olga Lyubimova, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

«The project has a special mission. You will be able to learn more about the life of Sergei Vasilyevich, get acquainted with the excerpts from his letters and interviews. The idea of the competition unites Rachmaninoff’s three main hypostases, that his personality organically combined – a composer, a pianist and a conductor. I am sure that the project «My Rachmaninoff» will be close to everyone`s heart and that the Competition will become one of the main cultural events of our country», said Olga Lyubimova.

«My Rachmaninoff» is to become a strong support on the eve of the composer’s 150th anniversary, which will be widely celebrated in 2023 and will include a series of interviews by the world-famous musicians on the figure of S.V. Rachmaninoff and his influence on the Russian culture. Renowned instrumentalists, conductors and composers will speak out on the role of Rachmaninoff’s music in their lives. The second direction of the project, which goal is to let people look at Sergei Vasilyevich from a different angle through his own statements, is reading the composer`s letters, memoirs and interviews by musical and theatrical figures.

Vladimir Fedoseyev, Yuri Simonov, Valery Polyansky, Yuri Bashmet, Ildar Abdrazakov, Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Fabio Mastrangelo, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Dmitry Bertman, Alexander Ramm, Konstantin Emelyanov, Polina Osetinskaya, Dmitry Masleev, Polina Malikova and many others will take part in the project.

The project «My Rachmaninoff» will be released several times a week from May until the end of June 2022 on the official website of The Rachmaninoff International Competition, on the partner resources of the online streaming of the Competition –  «VKontakte», and will also be broadcast on the website culture.ru.

The founders of the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors are the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Directorate of the Competition is ROSCONCERT. The Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors will be held from 14 to 27 June, 2022 in Moscow on stages of the Moscow Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Rachmaninov Concert Hall (Philharmonia -2). The official opening is to take place on June 15 at the Moscow State Conservatory. The competition was established in 2021 on the eve of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sergei Rachmaninoff in 2023 at the suggestion of Denis Matsuev – People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.
