The Russian Academic Youth Theatre hosted performances by the Theater for Children and Youth from Almaty. On 17 and 18 October, the Natalia Sats State Academic Russian Theater for Children and Youth (Kazakhstan) held its Big Tour in Moscow.
The performances were held at the Russian Academic Youth Theater (RAMT) as part of the All-Russian Touring and Concert Plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation .
The name of Natalia Ilyinichna Sats makes a close connection between RAMT and the Almaty theater. In 1921, she founded the Moscow Children’s Theater, the future RAMT, and in 1945 — the first theater for children and youth in Kazakhstan.
The tour opened with the show Sats directed by Galina Pyanova — a performance-reconstruction dedicated to the theater’s founder. The story of her life and work was presented as a living myth about time, faith, and devotion to art.
“This is a gesture of love and gratitude to Natalia Ilyinichna and everything she has done,” the director noted.
Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Tatyana Kostyuchenko, who plays the role of the young Natasha Sats, emphasized: “Playing the part of Natalia Sats is a great honor. She lived not for herself, but for people and art.”
The lead roles were played by Tatyana Tarskaya, Tatyana Kostyuchenko, Olga Korzheva, and Vladimir Krylov.
On the second day, the audience was offered the fantasy show Ruslan and Lyudmila, based on Alexander Pushkin’s poem — a colorful story of love, fidelity, and the triumph of good over evil. Arman Iskakov, Zhanel Syzdykova, Vladimir Krylov, Evgeny Dubovik, and Olga Korzheva were performing in the play.
Before the start of the tour, Dauren Abayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Russia, delivered a welcoming speech: “This tour is an important event in the ‘calendar of friendship’ between Kazakhstan and Russia.”
Today, the Natalia Sats Theater in Almaty, founded in 1945, is one of Kazakhstan’s leading theater companies. Its repertoire combines classical and contemporary plays, creating a space for artistic dialogue and the education of the younger generation.
The tour is organized by the Federal State Budgetary Cultural Institution ROSCONCERT in accordance with the All-Russian Touring and Concert Plan.
