“Uniting Heritage, Creating the Future”The Moscow Song Theatre “Yar” showcased Russian culture at the 2nd World Cultural Festival in Hanoi
From 2 to 4 October, the Yar Moscow Song Theatre performed in the capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The troupe visited Vietnam for the first time to participate in the 2nd World Cultural Festival, held in the historic center of Hanoi — on the territory of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long — under the theme “Uniting Heritage, Creating the Future.”
This large-scale forum brought together representatives from over 50 countries. The Russian artists performed famous Russian folk songs such as Korobeiniki (Pedlars), Oysya, ty oysya, and Marusenka, concluding their show with the legendary Kalinka.
“The Vietnamese audience has given us a wonderful reception, which proved that Russian culture possesses a remarkable quality: even without understanding the lyrics, people start dancing and singing along, responding to our artistic energy in a way that brings everything around us to life. This great power of Russian folk poetry and Russian song has a magical impact on all the participants of the World Cultural Festival,” said Viktor Artemyev, Artistic Director of the Yar Moscow Song Theatre.
The events were held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and Federal State Budgetary Institution of culture ROSCONCERT.
