Preliminary Round Results Announced for the XV Moscow International Ballet Competition158 contestants from 30 countries are participating in the in-person rounds
The XV Moscow International Ballet Competition will take place in Moscow from 25 June to 5 July 2026 on the stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. This year’s Competition honours the outstanding choreographer of our time, People’s Artist of the USSR, Yuri Grigorovich.
The Competition has attracted strong international interest. Organisers received 362 applications from 35 countries. Following the selection process, the jury invited 158 dancers from 30 countries to take part in the live rounds, including Australia, Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Greece, Georgia, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, the United States, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Sweden, South Africa, and Japan.
An international jury of leading figures in the ballet world will evaluate the participants. The panel brings together distinguished artists from Russia, Belarus, Brazil, Hungary, Kazakhstan, China, Cuba, the Republic of Korea, Serbia, Turkey, and South Africa. The jury will be chaired by People’s Artist of Russia Svetlana Zakharova.
