The concert series commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War continues in the Republic of MauritiusThe final performance of Russian musicians will take place on 20 November at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis.

Honoured Artist of Russia Olesya Evstigneeva and the New Day (Novy Den) quartet of soloists of the State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble Rossiya named after Lyudmila Zykina will perform on stage featuring: Timur Galinurov (accordion), Valentin Solgalov (balalaika), Svyatoslav Kaiser (domra), and Igor Koksharov (double bass balalaika). The Ensemble’s artistic director is Honored Artist of Russia Dmitry Dmitrienko.

The program includes folk songs and works by Russian and Soviet composers.

The concert series in the Republic of Mauritius started in May.

On 9 May, a sextet of soloists from the State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble Rossiya named after Lyudmila Zykina gave a concert at the Russian Embassy in Port Louis. On 11 May, laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition Alexander Ghindin (piano), Haik Kazazyan (violin), Alexander Ramm (cello), and Zinaida Tsarenko (mezzo-soprano) performed classical music and wartime songs at the Caudan Arts Centre. On 10 October, a concert under the title Brilliance of Russian Classics took place, featuring laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition Polina Shabunina (soprano), Maxim Lisiin (baritone), Ivan Sendetsky (cello), and Sergei Davydchenko (piano).
