Russian musicians will perform in Oman.From 27 October to 17 December, performances by Russian musicians will become part of the project Musical Seasons at the National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The organizer is the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT.
The six concerts, which will take place at the National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman, will feature Dinara Aliyeva (soprano), Daria Davydova (soprano), Igor Morozov (tenor), Maxim Lisiin (baritone), Nail Mavlyudov (piano), Elena Tarosyan (violin), the Pure Classics ensemble, and the String Quartet of the N. Ossipov Orchestra.
The series of musical evenings will open with a vocal concert on 27 October. Dinara Aliyeva, soloist of the opera company of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia and People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, and Igor Morozov, guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia and the Mariinsky Theater, Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, will perform famous works by Russian and foreign composers. The concert program will include arias from operas by Tchaikovsky, Bellini, and Puccini, romances by Russian composers, famous songs of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as Neapolitan songs and the Russian folk song Ah, You Darling.
On 5 November, a concert of classical music featuring laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition Elena Tarosyan (violin) and winner of international competitions Nail Mavlyudov (piano) will take place. The program will include Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13, and Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3 in C minor, Op. 45, by Edvard Grieg, as well as four works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky: four movements from The Seasons cyclus (May. White Nights, June. Barcarolle, July. Mower’s Song, and August. Harvest), Meditation from the Eighteen Pieces cyclus, Russian Dance from Swan Lake, and the Waltz-Scherzo in C major.
On 12 November, another vocal evening will be presented. Daria Davydova and Maxim Lisiin, winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition, will perform well-known excerpts from operas by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and Alexander Borodin, as well as the Russian folk song Travushka-muravushka and the duet of Hanna and Danilo from Imre Kálmán’s operetta The Merry Widow.
On 3 December, the Omani audience will be offered a performance by the Pure Classics ensemble, featuring leading musicians from the Moscow orchestras, such as members of the Bolshoi Theater Wind Quintet and renowned soloists Nikolai Popov (flute), Sergei Petrov (clarinet), Andrei Rudometkin (bassoon), Alexey Popov (viola), Viktor Kozodov (cello), and Viktor Yampolsky (piano). The concert program will include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Sonata for flute and piano in D major and Kegelstatt Trio for piano, clarinet, and viola in E-flat major, Mikhail Glinka’s Trio Pathétique in D minor for clarinet, bassoon, and piano, and Carl Maria von Weber’s Trio for piano, flute, and cello in G minor.
The String Quartet of the N. Ossipov Orchestra featuring Alexey Gerasimov (bass domra), Maria Gorbacheva (small domra), Yulia Neverova (alto domra), and Dilyara Sagdeeva (small domra) will give a concert on 10 December. The works by composers of 18 – 20 centuries, including Johann Adolf Hasse’s Symphony, Alexander Glazunov’s String Quartet No. 3 (Slavic Quartet) in G major, selected pieces from Valery Gavrilin’s Sketches cyclus, Yuri Shishakov’s Quartet, Yan Frenkel’s Kalina Krasnaya (Red Cranberry Bush), Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Italian Polka, Elmir Nizamov’s Toccata, and Sulkhan Tsintsadze’s Miniatures for String Quartet will be performed during the evening.
A series of musical events will conclude with a concert by the Balalaika Trio ensemble, the participants of which are Konstantin Zaharato, Oleg Piskunov, and Kirill Yachmenev. Marat Mansyrev will play the piano. The program will cover four centuries of music, from Baroque pieces to film soundtracks and contemporary popular songs. The works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Vittorio Monti, Johann Strauss, Aram Khachaturian, Zequinha de Abreu, Joe Hisaishi, Yevgeny Trostyansky, Andrei Ivanov, Sting, and other composers will be performed by the musicians.
