Russian Academic Youth Theatre performed in Kazakhstan with great successThe Big Tour of the theater is dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The Russian Academic Youth Theater (RAMT) brought to Almaty two productions – Tomasina and It’s a Family Affair – We’ll Settle It Ourselves. The performances took place on 11 and 12 February on the stage of the State Academic Russian Theater for Children and Youth named after Natalia Sats.

On the first day of the tour, a press conference was held, which was attended by: Interim of N. Sats Theater Director Oleg Gostev, RAMT Deputy Director for work with audiences Kirill Rybkin, Deputy Head of the Touring Programs Department at the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSKONCERT Yulia Zaitseva, theatre director Alexandra Lovyannikova, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Yuri Grigoriev, actresses Evgenia Beloborodova and Alexandra Rozovskaya.

As Kirill Rybkin noted, the company was limited in its choice of touring productions due to the technical characteristics of the stage in Almaty, but in the future RAMT plans to bring more shows: “We hope that after the reconstruction of the Natalia Sats Theater, we will be able to show you our best productions. And, very likely, your favorite ones.”

The director of the play Tomasina Alexandra Lovyannikova shared her impressions: “We had an amazing show. The audience clearly empathized with the heroes, deeply penetrating into their story. When the audience approached the stage with gifts and sweets, it seemed that our main character – Tomasina – robbed a candy shop. These were incredibly valuable emotions for us. It is for such emotions that we work, for the audience’s  love and the warm energy that we give and receive in return.”

Yuri Grigoryev added: “We have not even experienced such a sincere attitude on the part of the audience at home! The theater exists to touch the soul of each person, in such a way as to receive response, empathy. And in a way that is spiritually beneficial. This forgotten expression is wonderful. We have such plays, and, thank God, new, interesting and profound ones are appearing. Not only children, but also adults will find something useful for themselves.”

“We adore touring,” said Evgeniya Beloborodova, who plays the role of Tomasina. “Despite the uneasy times, we always try to feel the atmosphere of a new city, get to know its culture and buy some national souvenirs.”

On the final day of the tour, February 12, during the bows after the curtain fall of  It’s a Family Affair – We’ll Settle It Ourselves”, one could see a true fraternization of the two theater companies founded by Natalia Ilyinichna Sats: colleagues from Almaty joined the RAMT actors on stage and altogether they took a group photo to the applause of the audience.

The Big Tour program is implemented by the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT in compliance with the All-Russian Tour and Concert Plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
