The 2025 Exchange Cultural Events between Russia and Ossetia will be launched in St. PetersburgThe ensemble from Tskhinval will dedicate its performance to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The project Exchange cultural events between Russia and South Ossetia is aimed at strengthening friendly cooperation and integration in the field of culture between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia. Every year, Russian and South Ossetian companies perform in both countries within the framework of the project, and these events have gained great popularity with the audience.
This year, the exchange cultural events are dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The delegation from South Ossetia will be welcomed in St. Petersburg.
On 6 March, the South-Ossetian delegation will lay flowers and wreaths at the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery at the foot of the Motherland monument, thus paying homage to the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
On 7 March, the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre will host a concert by the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Republic of South Ossetia Simd named after B. Galaev.
The company led by the Honored Worker of Arts of the Republic of South Ossetia Sergey Kochiev will present a program “Simd” in the Victory Rhythms. The audience will enjoy a poignant Ossetian song about the seven Gazdanov brothers, imbued both with grief and gratitude to those who laid down their lives for peace; the legendary Ballad of a Soldier by V. Solovyov-Sedoy with lyrics by M. Matusovsky and other musical pieces dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. People’s Artist of the Republic of South Ossetia Soslan Khasiev will sing a heartfelt song dedicated to twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Mongolian People’s Republic Issa Pliev, whose life is an example of valor and courage.
In addition, the company will perform its brightest works demonstrating the richness of the Ossetian culture: the folk mass dance Simd, Shepherd’s Song, exuberant Ossetian Folk Dance, etc.
The Simd ensemble, which celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2023, is well known to the Russian audience and well beloved. Since 2021, the famous company has visited various regions of our country and performed in Makhachkala, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Moscow. In turn, the residents of South Ossetia had an opportunity to enjoy the art of the best Russian performing groups: the State Academic Honored Dance Ensemble of Dagestan “Lezginka”, the Oleg Lundstrem State Chamber Orchestra of Jazz Music, the Moscow State Academic Dance Theater “Gzhel”.
The cultural exchange events will continue throughout the year, and according to established tradition, the capital of South Ossetia, Tskhinval, will welcome the artistic delegation of our country on Russia Day – 12 June .
The events are organized by the Federal State Budgetary Cultural Institution ROSCONCERT with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of South Ossetia.
