The 2025 Russia-Abkhazia Cultural Exchange Events have been launchedOn 7 April, the Samara State Philharmonic hosted an exciting event within the framework of the project.

On this day, a concert of the Piano Duo duet, accompanied by the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Abkhazia under the direction of the Chief Conductor, People’s Artist of the Republic of Abkhazia David Terzyan, took place. Two famous pianists – People’s Artist of the Republic of Abkhazia Ninel Bzhania and Honored Artist of the Republic of Abkhazia Guliza Avidzba – presented a program, in which the classics met the contemporary music. They performed masterpieces of different epochs and styles, from Bach and Vivaldi to Jenkins.

The Abkhaz duet Piano Duo has already won the hearts of the Russian audience with its daring repertoire that combines academic traditions and modern genres. On 12 June 2024, on Russia Day, the audience in the Winter Theater in Sochi hailed the performance of the Abhaz musicians with great applauze: the piano duet and the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Abkhazia captivated the audience with their excellence. Now their artistry has been highly appreciated by the residents of Samara.

The existing close cultural ties between Abkhazia and Russia are constantly developing. Exchange events have already become a good tradition that opens an opportunity for the audiences of Russia and Abkhazia to get acquainted with the work of the best performing companies from both countries.
