The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra’s first ever tour in RussiaThe concerts by the orchestra will be the final event of the Cross Year of Cultural Exchanges and Tourism Russia – Thailand.

In early April, the final events of the Cross Year of Cultural Exchanges and Tourism Russia-Thailand will take place. The thematic Year allowed citizens of the two countries to feel each other closer, get acquainted with the best examples of Russian and Thai culture, and enjoy performances by leading artists and companies.

The Year will be concluded with a tour by the world-famous Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana.

On 2 April, Thailand’s leading orchestra will perform in the cultural capital of Russia on the stage of the Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic named after D.D. Shostakovich. The second concert will take place on 4 April at the Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow. The program, prepared especially for the tour of Russian cities, will introduce listeners to the rich heritage of Thai classical music. The concert program will feature unique compositions created by members of the Royal Family.

The orchestra’s performances will feature stars of Russian musical art, laureates of international competitions – pianist Dmitry Masleev and violinist Gaik Kazazyan. Maestro Vanit Potavanit will be at the conductor’s desk.

The events are organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand with the participation of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT.
