The Poem of Vietnamese-Russian Friendship was presented at a concert in MoscowThe concert was held in honor of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia.

The Poem of Vietnamese-Russian Friendship is a performance that uses the language of high art to tell the story of the 75-years-long way the two nations traveled together. The concert in Moscow was a kind of emotional bridge of friendship.

The event was attended by the honored guests,  among whom was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi. In his welcoming speech, Mr. Dang Minh Khoi extended gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, ROSCONCERT and the Le Ngoc Theatre for organizing the event and emphasized that Vietnam and Russia “are always close, side by side, whether at war or in peacetime. In 1941, Vietnamese soldiers took part in the Battle of Moscow, and in Russia a monument to them was erected.”

On 18 July, a group of talented performers under the artistic direction of People’s Artist of Vietnam Le Ngoc performed on the stage of the Moscow Folklore Center.

Le Ngoc told about her theatre, which has widely toured internationally popularizing Vietnamese culture abroad: “We have presented the cultural heritage of Vietnam in France, Italy, Japan, Monaco, South Korea, China, Laos – and now we have brought it to beautiful Russia for the first time. We, the Vietnamese, love Russian culture and the Russian people with all our hearts. We have long dreamed of coming here to fulfill our mission – to introduce Russians to the culture of Vietnam and to show how deeply our country values and respects Russia. This is symbolic in the year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. We believe that cultural exchange between our countries enriches both sides, and we strive to strengthen ties between Vietnam and Russia so that our peoples become closer and understand each other better. We brought our works to Russia because we sincerely love your country. This is the reason why today Vietnamese artists will also perform Russian works.”

Songs by Vietnamese composers were performed: Spring Festival, Love of the Land, Far Away at Sea, etc. Moscow Nights by V. Solovyov-Sedoy and Raspberry-Berry by V. Dobrynin were also in the program. A special place in the concert was given to the unique piece Hau dong – Ngu bien (Five Transformations) performed by People’s Artist Le Ngoc, in which the culture of worship of the Mother Goddess was presented with sophistication and grandeur.

After the concert, the young singer Ha Quynh Nhu, a third-year student at the National Academy of Music in Hanoi, shared her impressions: “Today is a special day: for the first time I set foot on the land of beautiful Russia. I have long dreamed of visiting here, of seeing this country with my own eyes. During the show, I felt incredible warmth from the audience. We were supported not only by our compatriots, but also by the Russian audience – they sincerely enjoyed each piece at the concert and applauded enthusiastically. I am deeply touched by this reception. This is my first visit to Russia, and I did not expect to receive such a loving welcome. I am immensely grateful to you for this.”
