Vietnam and Cambodia enjoyed a great success of the Days of Russian CultureThe events became a highlight of cultural exchange between our countries

The opening ceremony of the Days of Russian Culture in Vietnam took place on 23 March in Hanoi. Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Andrey Malyshev and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Ta Quang Dong attended the event. They noted that cooperation in the field of culture plays a particularly important role, serving as a strong bridge between our peoples and contributing to the mutual understanding. Russian cultural events continued on March 25 in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the festival, guests enjoyed a diverse program, including a unique exhibition of Russian folk costumes and arts and crafts, a photo exhibition Cultural Heritage of Russia and, of course, a high-spirited performance by the Omsk Russian Folk Choir. The concert program Heirs of Siberia provided an unforgettable experience, introducing the audience to the richness and diversity of Siberian traditions.

“Beyond all doubt, this tour proved that Russian folk art possesses a powerful unifying force, capable of overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers! We are especially proud that the Omsk Russian Folk Choir has been given the honor of representing the country at such a high level. We witnessed a genuine, sincere interest in, and deep respect for our traditions and culture. We are convinced that projects like the Days of Russian Culture are the most effective and open way to strengthen international ties and reveal the beauty of Russian art to the world. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for its strategic support of international cultural initiatives, its attention to the development of folk art, and the opportunity to represent Russia at such a high level. We also express our gratitude to the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT for its professionalism, the impeccable organization of the tour, and the care for the choir participants throughout the entire trip,” said Irina Lapshina, Director of the Omsk Philharmonic.

On 28 March, Russian Culture Days took place in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Local residents and visitors, including representatives of the diplomatic corps from Cuba, Brazil, North Korea, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, and Turkey, had an opportunity to immerse themselves in Russian culture, learn about its traditions, and enjoy a magnificent performance by the Omsk Choir.

“Culture has a striking ability – it speaks a universal language understandable for everyone, transcending barriers and borders, helping people from seemingly disparate countries to come closer together and better understand each other.

Days of Culture not only offer an opportunity to encounter Russia’s cultural wealth but also a step toward further deepening cooperation between our countries. I am confident that such initiatives will contribute to expanding contacts between people and building a solid foundation for the implementation of new projects in the future,” noted Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
