The International Ballet Competition is one of the most respected ballet competitions in the world. It was founded by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The Competition is held every four years on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
The International Ballet Competition was founded in 1969. Legends of the Russian ballet were at the dawn of its origins: Galina Uvalova, Jury Chairman of the first Competition; Igor Moiseev, Head of its Organizing Committee; Olga Lepeshinskaya, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of many subsequent Competitions.
Starting from the second Competition (1973), the great contemporary choreographer Yuriy Grigorovich has been the permanent chairman of the jury and its Artistic Director.
Over the years the Competition jury included: Marina Semyonova, Galina Ulanova, Sofya Golovkina, Maya Plisetskaya, Irina Kolpakova, Vladimir Vasilyev, Yvette Chauvire, Alisia Alonso, Robert Joffrey, Arnold Haskell, Rudi van Dantzig, Svetlana Zakharova, Ulyana Lopatkina, Helgi Tomasson, Julio Bocca, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, and other representatives of the world ballet elite.
The Moscow Ballet Competition has opened up a whole galaxy of eminent dancers to the world, such as Mikhail Baryshnikov, Vyacheslav Gordeev, Vladimir Malakhov, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, Maria Aleksandrova, Nina Ananiashvili, Julio Bocca, Vadim Pisarev, German Cornejo, Misa Kuranaga, Thiago Suares, Galina Stepanenko, Evgenia Obraztsova, Ivan Vasiliev, Natalia Osipova, and others. During the existence of the competition, Gran Prix has been awarded to Nadezhda Pavlova (USSR, II Competition, 1973), Irek Mukhamedov (USSR, IV Competition, 1981), Andrey Batalov (Russia, VIII Competition, 1997), and Denis Matvienko (Ukraine, X Competition, 2005).
The competition has been dedicated to outstanding figures of the Russian and world ballet three times: VII competition (1993) was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Marius Petipa; IX competition (2001) was held in honor of Galina Ulanova; XI competition (2009) was devoted to the Russian ballet dancer Marina Semyonova.
After the XII Competition in 2013, the All-Russian Contest of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers was established on the initiative of Yuriy Grigorovich. Winners in the category of Classical Dance have the right to enter the All-Russian Contest of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers without participating in the qualifying stage.
The XIII Competition in 2017 stood out among the previous ones because of the record prize fund. Thanks to the attention and support of the Government of the Russian Federation the main prizes of the Competition, two Grand Prix, amounted to $100,000 each.
The XIII Competition was broadcasted with great success for the first time in the whole of Europe by the Internet classical music channel Medici.
The rich history of the Competition, its prestige and status as well as the opportunity it gives to young dancers to perform on the famous stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia traditionally attracts a lot of participants both from Russia and from abroad. The Competition has been the leader among other international contests for several decades.
Creative meetings, seminars, master classes and exhibitions are traditionally held as part of the Competition. Well-known figures in the world choreography from many countries as well as representatives of Russian and foreign media attend the Competition as guests of honor.

Moscow Ballet Competition

Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT holds high-status events in the field of international cultural cooperation, prepares cultural programs of forums, business summits and meetings.
This area of activity of ROSCONCERT aims to promote international cultural cooperation, integrate contemporary Russian art into the current global artistic process, support cultural activity of our country abroad.
As we know, culture is an excellent peace ambassador. Harmonious coexistence of different cultures, dialogue and cooperation in the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding are the best guarantees of international peace and security.
According to the Government order, ROSCONCERT is successfully implementing cultural exchange within the framework of festivals, Culture Days and cross-years in Russia with other countries: the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Korea, the People&#8217;s Republic of China, the Kingdom of Morocco, Mongolia, State of Palestine, the Republic of Tunisia, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of South Africa, the Republic of Abkhazia, the Azerbaijani Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of South Ossetia.
In recent years, ROSCONCERT has organized cultural programs of such representative forums as the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), St. Petersburg Cultural Forum and others, as well as special events: &#8220;Days of Russian Culture in the countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe: Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Greece&#8221;; &#8220;Days of Culture of the Russian Federation within the framework of the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Kingdom of Thailand&#8221;, &#8220;Exchange of cultural events between Russia and Egypt within the framework of the Humanitarian Cooperation Year&#8221;, gala concerts within the framework of the Festival of Cultures during the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the BRICS summit; &#8220;Concert programs within the framework of the Year of the History of Russia &#8211; Greece&#8221; and many others.
Holding events in the field of international cultural cooperation promotes a positive image of Russia in the international arena, forms trust-based relations and cultural partnership between countries, increases the level of interest of friendly countries in the culture of Russia, and provides citizens of partner countries the opportunity for a broader access to each other’s culture.

&#8220;The All-Russian touring and concert plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation recreates one of the main achievements of the past, a unified touring system of the country, which is formed according to understandable transparent rules and covers the entire territory of Russia.&#8221;

The All-Russian tour and concert plan is a unique and unprecedented project of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation which allows to broadly and efficiently organize tours of cultural institutions, creative teams and creative universities around Russia and across the world.
The All-Russian touring and concert plan was prepared in 2021, for the first time in 30 years. It gives every creative team of the country a chance to receive government support.
The All-Russian touring and concert plan includes two major programs: Bolshie Gastroli (Grand Tour) (theatre tours) and We Are Russia (tours of national ensembles).
The federal program Bolshie Gastroli (theatre tours) is designed to unite the common cultural space in Russia, expand creative cooperation between theatre ensembles, attract more audience across the country.
The Bolshie Gastroli program is carried out in 6 areas: federal, foreign, interregional, for children and youth, for students, supporting touring activities of nongovernmental (private) theatres.
Thanks to the Bolshie Gastroli program, viewers have the opportunity to see best achievements of Russian and foreign theatres. Plays are targeted at a very wide audience: adults, families, children. Large-scale theatre tour is held with full-fledged scenery, costumes, a full cast of the play, as well as with the participation of outstanding figures of theatrical art.
The project is open for cooperation between representatives of the professional theatrical community in all regions of Russia and in the CIS countries.
The federal program We Are Russia (tours of national ensembles) was launched on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in February, 2020. For the first time since the Soviet era, it has united the touring activities of national choreographic and choir ensembles, orchestras and ensembles of folk instruments, song and dance theatres, song and dance companies.
As part of government support of the touring activity in constituent entities of the Russian Federation, an annual campaign is held to collect applications from theatres and national teams which are necessary for participation in the All-Russian touring and concert plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation under the Bolshie Gastroli and We Are Russia programs.

All-Russian tour and concert plan

The All-Russian Music Competition was established by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in September, 2010.
The competition aims to preserve and develop best traditions of Russian performing art and incorporates best features of its “predecessor”, i.e., the All-Union Competition of Musicians established in 1933, which discovered for the world such names as Emil Gilels, Svyatoslav Richter, David Oistrakh, Svyatoslav Knushevitskiy, Evgeniy Mravinskiy, Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Atlantov, Vera Dulova, Elena Obraztsova, Yuriy Temirkanov, Mikhail Pletnyov, Valeriy Gergiev, and many other outstanding contemporary musicians.
Starting from 1961, the All-Union Competition of Musicians received a special status, a qualifying stage of the International Tchaikovsky Competition. The Competition has been held during 58 years and was a national treasure. The last All-Union Competition was held in 1991, the year of the collapse of the USSR.
The I All-Russian Music Competition (2010-2013) immediately received a status of a large-scale and significant cultural event.
It is a four-year cycle of competitions and covers almost every specialty of academic musical performance: the 1st year is dedicated to the categories of Piano, Violin, Cello, Solo Singing; the 2nd year covers Chamber Ensemble, Choral Conducting, Opera-Symphonic Conducting; the 3rd year, Woodwinds, Brass Bands, Percussion Instruments, Ensembles of Woodwind Instruments, Ensembles of Brass Instruments, Organ, and Harp; the 4th year, Balalaika, Domra, Guitar, Bayan and Accordion, Ensembles of Russian Folk Instruments, Orchestra Russian Folk Instruments Orchestra Conducting.
More than 3 thousand young musicians have participated in the All-Russian Music Competition since 2010. The jury was formed by outstanding figures of the Russian music culture: Nikita Petrov, Boris Tevlin, Elena Obraztsova, Irina Bogachova, Valeriy Khalilov, Yuriy Simonov, Leonid Smetannikov, Anatoliy Dmitriev, Saulius Sondeckis, Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov, Friedrich Lips, Sergey Stadler, Sergey Roldugin, Olga Borodina, Larisa Gergieva, Yuriy Laptev, Nikolay Alekseev, Rishat Abdullin, Aleksandr Tchaikovsky, Viktor Popov, Yuriy Bashmet, Andrey Knyazev, Maksim Shostakovich, and others.
Starting from 2014, the winners of the All-Russian Music Competition may enter the International Tchaikovsky Competition without participating in the qualifying stage. Thus, making themselves known at the All-Russian Music Competition, gifted performers have many times become laureates of the most prestigious competition in the world. Among them are pianists Dmitriy Masleev and Konstantin Emelyanov, cellists Aleksandr Ramm and Anastasia Kobekina, violinist Pavel Milyukov, sopranos Maria Motolygina and Fyodor Shagov (brass bands, bass horn).
What sets the All-Russian Competition apart from other musical contests is the fact that it covers the whole country. For young talented musicians who live in remote regions and often do not have an opportunity to travel to Moscow, local competitions are a unique chance to make themselves known.
In 2021, the All-Russian Music Competition changed its format. Earlier, only qualifying stages used to be held in regions, and now competitions in every category, from the first stage till the final one, as well as the gala concert, take place in different cities of Russia.
The All-Russian Music Competition sets high standards for the professional level of participants, determines new criteria for performing art that correspond to the spirit of times, inspires young Russian musicians to strive tirelessly for the height of excellence.

The Baltic Seasons Art Festival was initiated in 2004 by M.E. Shvdkoy, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, by presidential decree of Vladimir Putin On Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Kaliningrad Region and the 750th Anniversary of Kaliningrad.
The program of the forum combines drama plays and musicals with performances of different genres and mini student festival and has no analogues in world practice.
The poster of the Festival meets the level of largest international theatrical events and promotes the Kaliningrad Region as one of the significant cultural centers of modern Russia.
Throughout the history of the Festival, its participants included such drama theaters as the State Academic Maly Theatre, the Moscow Art Theatre, the Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre, the State Theater of Nations, the Mark Zakharov&#8217;s Lenkom Theatre, the ET CETERA Theatre under the direction of A. Kalyagin, the Moscow Theater of Oleg Tabakov, the Sovremennik Theatre, the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater, the Volkov Theatre and many others. Among musical theatres and musical bands which participated in the Baltic Seasons are the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre, St. Petersburg Eifman Ballet, the Moscow Musical Theatre, State Russian Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Shostakovich St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic, New Russia State Symphony Orchestra,  the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, The Oleg Lundstrem State Chamber Orchestra of Jazz Music, the Terem Quartet, the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble, the Pyatnitsky Russian Folk Choir, the Kuban Cossack Choir, and many others.
Foreign ensembles were also guests of the Baltic Seasons: the Vilnius Municipal OK-Theatre (Lithuania), the Shota Rustaveli National Theatre (Georgia), Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia) conducted by G. Kremer, Lithuania National Opera, Gesher Theatre (Israel), The Comédie-Française (France), La Scala and La Scala Academy (Italy), The Piccolo Teatro di Milano &#8211; the Theatre of Europe (Italy), the Choir of the Gremi Theological Seminary after St. Aviv of Nekres of the Nekres diocese (Georgia), the 7 Fingers artist collective (Canada), the Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre, the Russian Drama Theatre of Lithuania, Maxim Gorky National Academic Drama Theatre (Republic of Belarus).
The program of the forum included plays prepared by students of leading Russian universities, among of which are the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), School-Studio (Institute) named after V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko of the Moscow Art Theatre, The Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (Institute) of the Maly Theatre of Russia, the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), and others.
The Baltic Seasons Festival takes place at the best venues of the region: the Kaliningrad Regional Drama Theatre, the Concert Hall of the Kaliningrad Region Philharmonic Society, the Cathedral, the concert and theatrical complex &#8220;House of Arts&#8221;, Tilsit Theatre, the Green Theatre in Sovetsk, the Yantar Hall Variety Theater, the House of officers of the Baltic Fleet in Baltiysk, as well as at the open-air sites: the Baltic Glory Square in Baltiysk, the Promenade in Svetlogorsk, the ships of the Baltic Fleet.
Some of the concerts and creative meetings of the Festival have a charitable purpose to help vulnerable social groups and military personnel of the Kaliningrad Region.

Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture ROSCONCERT is the organizer of famous ballet competitions, such as The International Ballet Competition and The All-Russian Contest of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers, as well as many other significant events in the world of ballet. On the ROSCONCERT website, fans of Terpsichore can now receive information about new issues of the Ballet magazine which depicts the modern life of ballet art.
Ballet is the oldest Soviet and Russian magazine about the art of dance and its creators: choreographers and composers, actors and artists as well as ballet performances that have become a classic heritage and those that have just appeared on stage.
Over the 40 years of its existence, Ballet magazine has become a real chronicle of the history of Dancing. One can find in the magazine interesting articles and unique pictures dedicated to folk and contemporary choreography, ballet schools and festivals.
2021 is the anniversary year for the magazine. Its first issue (it used to be called Soviet Ballet) was published on December 28, 1981, and an outstanding ballet dancer Raisa Struchkiva was appointed editor-in-chief of the new edition. At different times, the creative council included Galina Ulanova, Yuriy Grigorovich, Igor Moiseev, Makhmud Esambaev, Vyacheslav Gordeev, Vladimir Vasilyev, Sofya Golovkina, Boris Akimov, Marina Leonova, Makhar Vaziev, Svetlana Zakharova, Vladimir Urin, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, Boris Eifman.
For many years now the magazine has been run by the famous ballet expert Valeria Uralskaya. A lot of famous dancers, choreographers and theater directors are on the creative council.

BALLET Magazine

The program Cultural Map 4+85, launched in the summer of 2023, is an analogue of the
Pushkin Card and is an efficient mechanism for the socio-cultural rehabilitation and integration of the younger generation into a united Russian society.
Cultural Map 4+85 is aimed to demonstrate Russia&#8217;s achievements in the field of culture and art, science and technology. Every year, it opens up  opportunities for 10 thousand schoolchildren to travel around the country, study the history of Russia and get acquainted with its rich cultural heritage, scientific and technological progress. Excursions to iconic places of our homeland are organized for the children. Also the children can visit leading theaters, museums, and exhibitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities.
The all-Russian Program of Cultural and Educational Routes for schoolchildren from the Donetsk People&#8217;s Republic, Lugansk People&#8217;s Republic, Zaporozhye and Kherson region Cultural Map 4+85 was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of Russia and is implemented by the Federal State Budgetary Cultural Institution ROSCONCERT.
